How long until you could meet your protein goals without supplements?

My protein goal for the first 5 months was 60g per day, per my plan guidance. I stopped using protein supplements after 3 months when I was steadily able to eat 4oz per meal. I only rarely drink a Premier Protein shake now, and only when I'm short of time. I haven't used my unflavored protein powder for 3 months.

I upped my protein intake to 65-75g about 5 weeks ago, daily calories of 1000. I started a keto diet, and I have absolutely no problem meeting my daily goals. Like Gwen, I eat 3 meals a day, anywhere from 4-6oz.

well it can take quite a while and sometimes you gradually use less and less of them as you are able to eat more food protein. But getting the protein is critical. I still use bariatric tomato soup sometimes. Or I mix some protein powder into greek yogurt or sugar free pudding. I get a lot of my protein from gy these days. Easy to eat and convenient. GL. I am nearing 5 months out and I CAN get my protein in without a shake, but I CHOOSE to have my shake in the morning, it works for me. My plan allows for 3 meals and 2 snacks, and no BRPPS (bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and sweets)..and I aim for 60-80g protein a day. Like Gwen said 3 meals x 20g+ will get you there...fish, chicken, and beef are regulars for me.

With the help of ricotta cheese and egg custard, I could kick the powder to the curb around 6 months post op.

For me it was about 3 weeks post-op, but I was also moved to mushy solids Day 1 after my surgery so it made it super easy. Lots of tuna, scrambled eggs, pate, ricotta bakes, and more in those first three weeks.
