How long until you could meet your protein goals without supplements?

Still can't. Although one our out, and I can really eat more now. However, it all depends what your goals are?

I eat somewhere between 50-80 (including protein supplements) and rarely go over that

It took me almost a year, and I still don't meet it some days.

I was fine by month 30. The first two years I did not even try to do without shakes. By month 30 I started to have regain and cut out the shakes entirely.

I'm 3 1/2 months out and I supplement with 1 shake per day. I get 80-90g/day on average. But only because I drink a 30g shake!

I was able to when I was able to eat 4 ounces per meal - which was in the 3-4 month range if I recall correctly. I still choose to make one of my three meals per day a protein shake because that's what my body likes, but I could have once I was eating 4 ounces per meal.

I'm five months out and still have to have a shake every day.

I have nothing useful to add, except to say your profile picture of your baby (I'm assuming) is seriously the cutest little thing ever. Presh!

I'm confused by some of these comments. My meal plan is three meals a day and I keep my meals to 4-6 ounces each. 4 ounces of meat (chicken, fish, cow, pig) is in the 25-35 grams of protein range. So three meals a day of 4 ounces of protein is 75-105 grams of protein. Most people have a protein goal of 60-80 grams a day, so this should be easily attainable once you're able to eat 4 ounces in a meal.

(My current goal due to upcoming plastics is 100g/day. Whee.)

Good plan on high protein for plastics Gwen! I healed really fast and my surgeon attributed it to my high protein diet.
