No alcohol. Zip, zilch, nada. Your body is still recovering from surgery, and your liver and kidneys are working overtime while you are burning excess fat.

Fiid a better way to have adult fun.

No alcohol at all. Your stomach will just have had major surgery and your liver can't handle it. You should be focused on water intake and some softer proteins at that point. I would also advise to identify a hospital in advance with WLS experience just in case of emergency.

Best to stay away from the empty calories, even the "virgin" varieties are mostly fruit & sugar & high in carbs. If you're wanting to indulge, perhaps an occassional Virgin Mary with a shrimp would do, but, check the carbs. ENJOY your time away!

I'm sure your surgeon told you this before you had weight loss surgery. You can use marijuana as long as you don't smoke it.

I think you should call your doctor and ask him or her.

Alcohol is very hard on the stomach under normal cir****tances. You risk getting a bleed or damaging the healing gastrectomy. Our sleeves actually take months and months to heal properly.

Sure, something may only happen 1% or less, like a stomach bleed, but it sucks to be that person especially if you are overseas. I have been in the 1% before - I got necrotic MRSA in a surgical wound at one of the best hospitals with the lowest MRSA rate in the entire Midwest. It sucks and it happens, even if we do everything the right way.

Look at it as an opportunity to reframe how we enjoy things. What do I mean? I asked myself, soon after my surgery, why is it I always want to eat or drink to enjoy vacations? I honestly had no answer. I found that I often made such things a central part of the experience, even on expensive trips, to my detriment. I am not saying you do this, by any means! However, it might be quite a fun trip even without adult beverages is what I am saying, in unexpected ways :)

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Thank you Donna for taking the time to explain.

im no stranger to bariatric surgery as I've been successful with band for 10 out of the 14 yrs I had it. Lost over 130 lbs.....put on 65 in 4 yrs......

My band gave me so many complications I had it removed and now have the sleeve.

I just can't remember that long ago about the alcohol.

again I really appreciate your reply and I'm gonna try!ð??'
