People just don't have a clue...
I hate people like that............ye*****hing her in the throat would have messed up your nails....and you could have hurt yourself......explaining it to her would be useless as she obviously has no brains.....or class.... or manners.....or kindness..........in other words, she's a big B.
You could have looked at the top of her head and asked if she had a headache....when she would ask why, you would simply say....."your halo must be pinching"
Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.

It's just a magic stomach that makes the weight fall off no matter what you put in it.
People are dumb.

My surgeon didn't offer the "magic stomach" option. She removed 80% of my stomach and gave me a diet and a 30 page lists of instructions to follow...maybe I will ask for a "magic stomach" revision at my next follow up appointment!

Good luck with that!
I wonder if people say it's the "easy way" because they see that it works, so it must be easy. It's just a tool like anything else, but people are far more successful with the VSG than dieting alone.
People are always surprised when I tell them that I have to REALLY watch what I eat, exercise, go to bed hungry, and eat SO few calories in order to lose weight. Um... yeah. Of course! What do they expect?
That's exactly it, McLassie. I think people have known others and/or heard so many stories about people having WLS (especially RNY) and eating whatever they want but still losing. I know people like that as well. I don't know anyone else personally who has had VSG, so all I know is my own experience and what I read here.
Since there was no discussion about which surgery or any details, I'm sure she assumed I had RNY and has it in her head like so many that it's a "cop out" and just so easy...have the surgery and eat what you want and lose weight.
They have no conception that VSG is nothing like that, and that it requires a complete lifestyle and diet change to be successful long term. Protein forward, low carb forever. And always having to watch those calories. Wow, sounds just like any other person who ever lost weight "the hard way" and kept it off.
Like I said, people are stupid. That is my new mantra, and every day I'm proven right hahahaha
