Am I eating too much?

I am a little over a week into the post-op pureed stage, and I have been eating two scrambled eggs for a meal. I just read somewhere that I can have 1 egg for breakfast. So have I been eating way too much? It doesn't hurt to eat two eggs, though I definitely feel pretty full once I'm done.

At this point your stomach is still healing, so you can't trust it to give you proper signals. You should NOT, however, be eating until you feel full, or until it hurts.

I believe my pureed meals were 2-3 ounces. What are your surgeon's guidelines?

Everyone is different, but I'm just about 12 weeks out and I can only eat one egg. I actually kind of avoid them because the volume I can eat of eggs is so low.

At that point I was eating around 1/4 cup by volume. When I started soft foods at 2 weeks post op I could eat about 3/4 of one egg scrambled.

I could eat 2 plan soft boiled eggs a week post op. I think they weighed a bit over 3 oz (without the shell). I could only eat one scrambled egg, but I added a bit of heavy cream and cheese.

I'm just over 6 weeks. I can eat two eggs. My surgeon was surprised. Oh well.

You are eating too much. Stop. One egg is plenty. It's all you need.

If you don't make the adjustment between what you need and what you want at this stage, at the one year mark you'll be screwed.

You won't / shouldn't get the full feeling for a while still. Follow the portions on your perscribed diet. You can't trust what your stomach is telling you at this point.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know why I thought 2 scrambled eggs would be fine, but I guess I just thought my stomach would tell me if I was overdoing it, and I've been trying to get as much protein in as I can. I'm scaling back now.

I am almost 3 years out and still only eat one egg. I'm sure I could eat more but I make the choice not to. I usually add fresh veggies to my scrambled eggs which also helps with fullness. But to answer your original question....now this is just my humble opinion, at your stage I definitely think you're eating too much.
