I think it probably depends on the fit/cut? Maybe Dress Barn does some vanity sizing so their 6s are larger than other 6s? And I do tend to go for "fit and flare" dresses which means that hip/thigh measurement is less relevant.

I definitely can't wear a size 6 in pants right now because of belly/hips/thighs. We'll see what happens after this year of plastic surgery though..

And it's amusing because this tool - http://sizes.darkgreener.com - puts me firmly in the size 14 range.

Clothing sizes SUCK.

Yay!! I had a similar experience recently. Not as small as a 6, but it was a shock for me. It's a whole new world!
