Thanks, Rachel! He was in fantastic shape prior to the chemo (at 75, he could plank for 7 minutes), and says every time he visits either the infusion center for chemo or Mayo he says he's by far the healthiest person there. His attitude is terrific and he's able to see humor in some of it. And I think all that counts for a lot! The sobering part is despite great reponse to treatment, there's a 70% chance it will return someplace else. So we focus on the 30% and pray he's one of them.

Dang Gwen. I hate hearing this. One thing I learned early on is that some doctors will list that they treat disorders that they really know nothing about, just to get clients. Have you thought about calling some Eating disorder treatment centers to see if they have referred clients from your area to providers in your area for continuing treatment after completion of their programs?

I got my mom to buy a Groupon at the Yoga Studio I go to yesterday. Her recent MRI showed a beginning of a curvature of her spine. My grammy, 94, used to be 5'11", and is now less than 5'4" due to a history of scoliosis which has only worsened due to osteoporosis. My mom hasn't exercised since 2010 between her cancer and dad's stroke. She's been taking care of dad since his health worsened a few years later. But now he is doing better with Aricept and she can get out of the house knowing he is not confused and lost. And that MRI scared the crap out of her. I'm getting her hooked up with gentle yoga, restorative yoga, and yin yoga too. Hopefully, She'll rebuild her muscle mass and strengthen her bones. Maybe even get a better appetite.

Yesterday, I did about 15 minutes of laps around the living room and kitchen to pass the leader in my Weekend Warrior Challenge. I feel like it was a bit of a cheat, but it gave me extra burnt calories and a bit of a loss for today.

Local eating disorder clinics are definitely on my list. Not that they're very local, but it'll do. I've got a game plan.

I hope that goes well for your mom. If there are any local senior centers, those often have classes specifically geared for seniors and might be worth looking into.

Try the bigger centers too. There's a very popular one out here in Wickenburg, AZ - Remuda Ranch. A lot of treatment facilities have alumni networks throughout the country.

I used to work at the substance treatment abuse program with the military at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. If I were still there, I would have your back. I've always been frustrated with the fact that you have to have a national licensure, but your DEA can't be national.

Dinner with my in laws was nice last night. I had planned on me having leftovers, but we were surprised with extras. My husband is a butcher and often does business with the owner of the Mexican restaurant..so about halfway through our meal the owner comes over with a bag of food, hands it to my husband as says "here, someone ordered this to go and changed their mind..it's good stuff, I want you to take it so it doesn't get wasted." I get home and check the bag to see what needs to go in the fridge and it was a big plate of what looks like mixed fajitas..chicken, steak, and shrimp..Protein!! Feels like Cinco de mayo at my house lol!

B leftover pollo ranchero

L fajita meat

D possibly more fajitas

Vitamins and water good. Buenos Dias!

Thank you. I think I was just too stunned that he had done that. And then, well, it's a crap situation because he was literally the only psychiatrist I could find in the area, so I felt like I had to see the appointment through to the conclusion, no matter how ****ty he was.

ARGH.

Enjoy your BBQ!
