Post op emotional rollercoaster

If you thought my reply was mean.... wow.

I'm not sure why you thought this was a judgment free zone - I think you're mixing up OH with Planet Fitness? But they have pizza there, so maybe that's where the confusion is coming from.

The point is, you are very newly post-op. Right now your dedication to the plan should be at the highest it will ever be. Yet you are self-sabotaging yourself. You MUST figure this out. If you're not seeing a therapist already, get yourself to one ASAP. This is not me being mean, this is me being truthful and giving you good, solid advice.

Dude you don't have to be negative or mean I never said pizza eating was good I just shared an honest moment I had with some one else who's going through something if I had known I would keep having it thrown in my face I would of kept it to myself thought this was a judge free zone. If some one doesn't know better they can't do better I learned something new straws help some patients hopefully it helps her but I didn't know that I'm still learning if my information that my doctors gave me is incorrect how would I know that. You corrected me and some one else shared their experience that helped them as well. And now I know I'm learning too. You don't have to be so mean like seriously IM LEARNING

Wow you've gotten quite the range of responses here. Three things:

1) There is a difference between "judging" and "educating". Those of us who have been around awhile have seen multitudes of post-ops doing exactly what you and the OP admittedly did with the pizza. We know what will happen if you don't stick with your surgeons plan and are trying to help you avoid some pretty serious complications. You've said it was a one time thing. I believe you. People who care and those who advise therapy are hoping to guarantee you won't deviate from plan that drastically ever again.

2) In that spirit I want to remind you that you have a sleeve. Sleevers don't have a pouch. That little bit of anatomy is limited to those who have had the RnY. It may seem like a tiny difference but it's not. Learn about your anatomy (I'm not picking on you here) so that if you end up with medical problems in the future you can describe your surgery correctly. For instance, having had the sleeve, you still have your pyloric valve. RnY's do not. Things that are different are not the same.

3) I see you've walked back your comment on Mo's weight loss. Wise idea. She and certain others are consistently here to help newbies. In spite of getting reactions like yours at times. Believe me, you do not want to lose the resource those who are further out represent.

Don't deactivate. Step back and re-group. The support here can't be found really anywhere else and it's what keeps many of us focused and successful.

Hey How are you? Thank you for sharing. I read everything you wrote but im not here for this notion that im walking anything back I did not come for that woman I have stated that several times and I have nothing to prove if I wanted to be nasty to her I could have and I wouldn't have to use her weight to do it why would I a weight loss patient shame some one else on their weight? I would be shallow and a low down mess to stoop so low. It was a big misunderstanding. But your right with everything else I have stepped back and regrouped and decided not to let one experience affect why I came to this sight. I have since learn to appreciate the advice that was originally given. And I even learned from you about the difference between sleevers and RnY. Thank you I try to learn as much as I can on my surgery. My doctors always refer to it as a pouch so thats why I referred to it as a pouch. N yes believe me no more pizza I have actually went a bit of a vegan route and it feels good.

Hi & welcome to the forum! As you can see it can get pretty lively & people are very passionate & the people here do want to help even if it doesn't seem that way.

It's ok to share that you had a slip with someone else who had the same thing, but people just don't want to see the 2 of you slip into an eating disorder cuz once you start sliding down the rabbit hole it can be so hard to climb back out.

In the beginning it really can be hard. I'm glad you decided to stick around to take in as much as possible. Some people take things the wrong way & deactivate & end up missing out on a lot of information that they can get from the people here.

Good luck on your weight loss journey.

  1. Well thank you very much for the welcome Rebel yeah it can't get very passionate and "lively". Yeah I'd rather not have that experience again. Yeah I thought it would be ok to share my experience but not if people are going to Make nasty jokes I would rather keep it to myself maybe next time I'll just private message. I appreciate the advise though it does help and I'm pretty sure it helped the OP a lot. I see you lost so much congrats girl I wanna be like you. Thanx for wishing me luck any pointers you care to share on how you did and stayed ahead of the head hunger
