Co-Morbidity????

My insurance had two options to qualify for VSG. One was a lower BMI and co-morbidities and the other was a higher BMI with NO co-morbidities.

Im beginning to feel that way, that I will be denied due to the "low" bmi and those co-morbidities.

The only way to know what your insurance requirements are is to call and ask.

BCBSTX with UT System require one co-morbidity with BMI 35-40 however I was still denied because they say my disease, hypertension, is controlled by best practice medical management. Meaning just take a pill everyday. Has anyone heard this before?

I have never heard that. You should appeal it.

No, but I doubt I have it.

I don't snore or wake up tired but my surgeon insisted I get checked and I did have apnea and enough to qualify as a co morbidity.
