Eating is such a chore!

I used to love eating (clearly!). Now it seems like a hassle. It feels like a burden to have to plan for something to eat through out the day. I know I need to eat, of course, but I never want to and am never hungry. Too bad this surgery didn't just take away my need to eat!

Although I sometimes forget to eat and don't feel that intense hunger, I do still find enjoyment in it. I especially have found some love for learning to prepare meals that as high in protein as possible. It's like a challenge. I've also discovered some new foods (tofu, different kinds of fish, cheeses) that I hadn't before!

It's great feeling & knowing that hunger isn't an emergency. I'm approaching 3 years out & my hunger is no where what it used to be pre wls.

I really understand what you are saying not wanting to eat and never being hungry. Since surgery I have force fed myself with every bite and drink I have put in my mouth. It is such a struggle for me as well. Sorry you are going thru this, but I am glad I am not alone. Hang in there, I hope it gets easier for you.

Couldn't agree with you more! It's been easy to forget to eat - then I log in to MFP and see I only have 40g of protein in for the day at 6pm, and then figure out how to fit in a protein shake and some actual food. Meanwhile, the idea of actually eating something seems monumental. Big change from a couple months ago for me.

Yes, I do the same thing, I check MFP and see I am far under what I need to be, so I then scramble to figure something out. I'm a night owl, so usually it means I end up eating part of a chicken breast at 10 pm.

Do you pre-plan your meals on MFP? This might be easy for me because I have two kids and a desk job so I generally know when I'm going to be where. But, I pre-plan each meal (or at least 2 of 3) and I eat them at designated times the best I can. Weekends are harder than week days, especially if I gasp sleep in until 9am and don't start getting in protein until 10am or later. Or if I'm faced with going out to eat and get something protein forward but not as high protein as the chicken breast at home. But it works for me on week days normally.

I'm not a big 'pre-planner', but doing the "whatcha eatin'" thread every morning gives me a rough outline and plants a bug in my head to eat something if I get a breath during the right time of the morning to go "OH!!! Someone didn't show up! Cheese stick and walk!". Often I don't eat exactly what I originally post, but it 'fleshes out' as the day goes.

Yep, and right now I'm sick of all of my go-to foods, and protein shakes are making me gag right now. It'll pass, but I'd love to hook up to an IV for my nutrition needs right now and just not eat. LOL.

That's exactly how I feel. When I get busy on the weekends I could not eat the whole 2 days and be just fine. I will grab a protein bar if I notice that is't been hours and hours since I last ate.
