Thanks for doing the menu thread every day, Rachel. Happy Friday Eve to everyone too. I haven't gone to church for a number of years, a lot had to do with my weight and anxiety associated with it growing up. After SGG posted about Lent, I talked my husband into going last night for Ash Wednesday. Facing my fears and getting outside of my box is one of my ongoing goals as I continue on this new venture. The church was packed, standing room only. Not only did I feel proud of myself but I felt a calm and peace that I haven't felt in a long time. People smiled and shook my hand when we shared at "peace" time. When I received ashes they dropped from my forehead down my face and the pastor smiled and said, "I'm sorry." There is no longer any reason to be afraid.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this post, Soho! I wish we lived closer so we could attend Mass together. :) My mom passed away 10 years ago, and I don't go very often because it makes me so melancholy and seem to miss her even more, if that is possible. But I am still grateful for my faith and the community I feel when I do go. Take care!
