I was back to beef as soon as I could eat regular food. For me I couldn't do pork for about three months.

I started eating cow again during my puree phase, so 2-3 weeks post-op.  Never had an issue with it :)

Great! I'm doing it then. Going to go for some beef tenderloin tonight from our local deli. I live in cow country in upstate NY and I'm ready to get back to beef because a "good" meal at a restaurant here is NOT seafood, it's beef!

I had meatloaf during the pureed stage.  I pureed boston market meatloaf w/ their cream spinach.  I need savory so badly.  So this was probabyl about 3 weeks out.

Steak would be at 6+ weeks I guess.  I can't remember exactly, but if you are struggling with chicken breast, steak will be harder.  Once chicken feels ok I'd say try steak (if following drs plan).  By 6 weeks I was cleared for anything and just listened to my body.

So far I haven't struggled with anything at all. Nothing hurts, nothing upsets my stomach. I have had canned chicken breast, and Instant pot chicken thigh. Both were fine. If I feel something is too dry I just make sure to dip (normally with some dip I make with plain greek yogurt).

Awesome -- then keep adding things in slowly and you can probably have anything.  I was similar in that nothing was a big problem for me.  I found dry / dense food just filled me up quicker, so made sure to eat them slowly.

I had 2oz of pork tenderloin last night and I was definitely full when I was done. Not so much that I felt "stuffed" but enough so I noticed more than any other food so far. At this point, with most foods, I generally just eat my measured portion and I don't feel terribly hungry when I start and I don't feel much different when I finish, but I'm ok with that!

You'll find that we all have different eating plans from our nutritionists. I wasn't able to eat lean meats until after 6 months. Even at 6 months it was hard to eat hamburger and meat. Just be patient, you'll eventually be able to eat everything in good time.

I had weird bizarro sleeve and could not tolerate chicken and eggs, but was able to eat lamb and beef at first, only trying them after all other protein didn't work very well.

Tastes also change widely after surgery.  I still loathe eggs on their own, when I loved them pre-op.  I also hate chicken breasts, which I enjoyed pre-op, too.

A good replacement for ground beef if you don't want turkey might be seitan or TVP.  Also ground pork or veal maybe?  Veal is beef still, but is far more tender and light.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
