Whatcha eating today? Sunday, 2/19/2017
It is gorgeous here today! It's going to be in the HIGH 60s (WTF!) and I'm looking forward to running in shorts and a t-shirt. In February.
Today should be a good day for me. I slept in until 8 which felt amazing after having alarms for 6 every other day of the week. And, after changing the batteries in my scale yesterday, my weight is at the lowest ever today! 166! Aside from running (it's my last chance to try for 13.1 before my actual race) my day should be low-key. I've got homework and laundry and that's about it.
I'm also going to find a new vitamin regimen today. I'm tired of having to work my patches around my skin sensitivities and I'm becoming less convinced that they're the right way to go for me.
1: protein bar pre-run
2: clif bloks during run
3: protein shake post-run
4: filled pasta casserole
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: running, yoga stretching
How about you? What's going on in your life today?

I think I have a new vitamin regimen planned out.
I had been doing: patch multi, patch calcium, patch iron, pill vitamin d, pill 500mg Ca/bone health complex (so it has vit d, Ca, Mg, and vit k).
I'm switching to the following: BA Chewable Ca (this is also a bone health complex, not just the Ca that the Chewy Bites have. I'll mix this with the current pill I take until I use up my pill supply. I just don't want to swallow 6 of the pills a day which is what I'd need to do to get the ASMBS recommend 1500mg Ca/day. They're huge and ugh.), Multivitamin Pill (it's REALLY hard to find a good multivitamin that doesn't have a dose of 3+ pills per serving, this is one pill and seems solid. I'll need to take two a day to get the recommended 200% that the ASMBS recommends for us.), keep the vitamin d pill, go back to the BA chewable Iron.
I am totally not thrilled that this means I'll need to go back to pills 4x a day, but whatever. It is what it is and thanks to all of my Anatomy and Physiology classes I'm less willing to be a guinea pig. My current PCP is also annoying about ordering the labs I care about, so I feel it's in my best interest to stick with tried and true - especially until I find a new PCP, which is on my list of things to accomplish in the next few months if I can find time.
My pill plan will look like this:
Morning: 500mg Ca pills until finished then switch to chews, vit D pill, multivite pill, vyvanse
After shower: B-12 spray ****ep it in the bathroom, hence the timing.)
Lunch: 500mg Ca chew
Dinner: 500mg Ca chew, multivite pill
Bedtime: iron chew

Well, today is day 8 of my "back on track" diet - Yesterday was a bit of a downer. I went to see a documentary at a local museum and they served wonderful refreshments. I avoided the sweets, but I ate a considerable number of cashews. I'm sure I blew the weight loss for yesterday, if not for several days. But I'm glad I didn't give in to the cookies and brownies, etc.
Today is another day, and no outings planned to interfere with the diet.
breakfast - salmon - yum I got a hydroponic herb garden for Christmas, and I am using the herbs on my salmon - delicious. My biggest problem is the herbs grow too fast, and I can't keep up with them.
lunch - finishing off the chicken and broccoli casserole
dinner - philly cheese steak sloppy joes
snack - Dijon lime chicken - this is getting repetitive. I'll be glad when it is gone.
I'm cooking the crock pot thai chicken, philly cheese steak sloppy joes and the taco casserole with spaghetti squash.
Have a good day, everyone.

Everyone I know who likes cashews has trouble with moderation - it seems like people either don't like them or LOOOOOVE them. :) I'm sure today will be better for you diet wise!

Hi Gwen,
I posted the recipe on the recipe forum. Link below. Its a simple recipe, but tasty and easy. During weight loss I made it with PB2, but lately I'm using chunky peanut butter and I like the texture of the chunky peanuts.

I definitely can't do cashews in moderation. Maintenance is really tricky. But I'm just so glad I was able to get back on plan for a whole week. I was getting really scared that the obesity and compulsions would win out. I think I've got it under control now - as long as I stay away from party food!
best wishes,
Carol

Today was yard work day number 2. My daughters and I have been landscaping this weekend. I am now a month out and feel good enough to be digging small holes, but mulching will have to wait. Hubby had a hernia surgery two weeks after my sleeve so we are trying to beat a Florida heat wave and get the yard in order.
As as the day aged we came in and my daughter and I made protein balls, and a turkey/egg beater Casserole for this weeks food prep. with the help of Unjury the casserole will help me reach protein goals all week.
