Too much fat?

Thank you for the suggestion. I eat pistachios and Gerb pepitas too but the taste of peanuts can't be beat right now. If I eat them I stick to an ounce, 160 calories.

Hi Jan,
I use Sparkpeople. I don't use their app so not sure how great that is. Hope you are having a great day.
Listen to Grim. I took his advice and it's working well for me. Yesterday I only had 8 carbs. He and the other vets have had much success with low carb and it is serving me well too. Sometimes my cals go into the 700's but that's due to dense protein. The fat will also help keep you regular which was another thing I learned from Grim. (THANK YOU GRIM!!!)
Because we have the VSG we don't have the amount of weight loss as the RNYers but It's still coming off pretty consistently. Of course having stalls are part of the process.
I hope everything gets better for you.

I don'****ch fat at all but I do about a 1:4 ratio between carbs and protein. No more that 25 grams carbs at least 100 grams protein. Some days are better than others but I'm on target 80% of the time.
I do keep a log to track of every bite of food and also vitamins, water and exercise. If I slack off on this, even for a few days, I don't lose as well.
Do you exercise? I had my 4 month PT visit this past week had a body mass analysis. I do walk at least 2 miles at least 4 times a week. The analysis, compared to the one I had right before surgery, showed that I am currently losing 1.8 lbs of fat per pound of muscle loss. Ideally it should be 2:1 or better. In other words I need to be doing lists more toning exercises to gain muscle as I loose fat.
Just thought I would mention this in case it's helpful too you.

Your question re: exercise can be answered in the last 3 lines of her post. :)
I may be noobie, but what does your doc say on 600 calories at a year?? This may be why you stall or slow.
My doc said 600-700 by 6 months when I asked the other day and slowly increase to be at 1000-1200 by a year to stay out of starvation mode.. she did say everyone is different but 900 a day is the lowest they want me to be if the 1000-1200 is too high.

My doctor says that starvation mode doesn't exist... that it has been scientifically disproven. He says the calorie intake varies by person but should be around 700-900. Once I'm in maintenance we'll gradually add in more calories but while I'm in weight loss mode, the smaller the number of calories the better (within reason, of course). Thanks!
That's why I asked on Doc all say different things.. :) I can say as far as the fat goes many people follow Keto from what I read, they do low carb as your doing now and some are high high fat. I worry what my arteries would look like but everyone is different, the many who post on it seem to have major success.
