NSV w/ work

I work at a library, so I walk a lot at work and also do a lot of kneeling and squatting. I've noticed the last few weeks that when I crouch down I feel more "compact" if that makes sense. It's a weird victory, but I don't feel as big (and I am definitely smaller). I have about 5-10 pounds left to lose before I hit the halfway point and I am kind of hoping I can get there before my surgery on Monday. I've been getting a little obsessive with weighing myself though so I've banned myself from doing it for awhile.

You've lost a lot of weight pre-op.  Congrats!  Yes, it totally makes sense you feel more "compact."  It will keep getting better, believe me.  I too, have to refrain from weighing.  Sometimes I can't go to sleep because I get so excited to weigh the next day.  I too have to ban myself. Will be thinking of you on Monday. Keep us updated if you want. (I grew up in MN but now live in TN)

GREAT!!! Isn't it wonderful when your body feels so much better? You're doing a fabulous job and once you get onto the Loser's Bench, the progress will be even more amazing. It's not a weird victory at all....it's a terrific accomplishment / victory and you have every reason to be shouting from the rooftops.....or at least here where we can fully understand your joy!

Best of everything on your journey and be sure to post as soon as you feel up to it after your surgery.....just remember....walk, walk, walk and sip, sip sip.

As to the weighing......don't feel you have to ban yourself from doing it. For me, it keeps me honest in that I know that if I mess up today it's going to show up either tomorrow or the next day, and when the scale gives me a smile in the morning, it encourages me to keep staying on track so that it will look even better tomorrow. I weigh EVERY day (unless I'm away from home and there's no scale).

I weigh every day in maintenance but while losing I only weighed once a month so I wouldn't see all the ups/downs/stalls.  For my personality that was the best way to stay motivated at that point.

Seeing the stalls is the main reason I'm refraining from weighing myself for a bit. I don't want to get discouraged because my weight has stayed the same.

Congratulations!  You've done a great job and that is a wonderful NSV. Best wishes on your surgery - I'm sure you'll do even better with your new tool.

Congratulations on the pre-op weight loss. Well done!

I too am a scale monger. But when I am off track, I don't step on it lol. So as long as I am on the scale each morning, it's a good sign that I am in a good frame of mind.
