My husband and I already have 4 dogs (city limit) so we can only take in pups under 4 months old.  But there are so many great foster homes that do work with older/ behavior challenged dogs out there.  We have fostered over 200 dogs in the past 8 years that have went on to live great lives with their forever families and it truly is our purpose in life.  :)

Hi all,

I'm on day 5 of my "back on track" effort.  Yesterday I had 4 meals and a snack of almonds - which means I probably blew any weight-loss for that day.  This is hard.

Breakfast - salmon

lunch - chicken and broccoli

dinner - orange flavored chicken over spinach.

snack - Dijon lime chicken

As Dori says "Just keep swimming.  Just keep swimming."

Do you sautee your spinach or is it raw?

For this dish, I steam the spinach, then layer it in a casserole, put the chicken over the spinach and pour the sauce over the whole works, and bake it.  I do eat salads of raw spinach regularly, too.  I love spinach.

best wishes,

Carol

Got to get my head back in the game. I am staying at 176 for the last month and my goal is 150. Eating around 1600 to 1700 calories daily. Working nights is messing with my mojo. Im struggling with stress anger depression and lack of sleep. Not drinking my water. I'm just choosing sweet junk instead of healthy food. I made an appt with my nutritionist and bariatric therapist. I haven't seen them in 9 months. On a plus side, I took kids to the park and walked 30 minutes and ran for the first time ever for 10 minutes total. I had to run in 1 minute increments and stop to catch my breath.

B egg 3 pieces of bacon

L . 2 baked chicken legs with 2 ounces green beans, 1 ounce mashed potatoes

D peanut butter and jelly sandwich

S 5 raisin creme pies . Yes 5 PIES. What the frick is wrong with my head!!!!!????

Good for you for exercising.

I can so relate and sympathize with the carb cravings.  I have to keep my carbs really low or the cravings take over and I just lose it.  Then I have to white-knuckle it to break the addiction before I can start dieting again.

I know everyone is different, but I can tell you that if I ate mashed potatoes and bread and jelly, I'd be helpless to resist the raisin crème pies, too.

It might be worth cutting way down on carbs - like 25 grams of carbs per day - for about a week and see if the cravings diminish.  It works for me.  Of course, I love the carbs, and I inevitably, eventually, give myself a pass to have bread or a desert, and then the pattern repeats.

Whoever said that weight loss surgery is the easy way out has never dealt with obesity!

It is a struggle every day. I thought it would get easier but it doesn't. It's such an emotional head game for me. I need to cut out the carbs but I've got to deal with the emotional root first. I appreciate your support. Coming from a skinny family they say just don't eat it.  If I could stop myself from eating it, I wouldn't be fat.
