Yesterday was crazy.  I went to my college to write cards for Planned Parenthood in the morning and then I hosted Tamalada until about 10pm.  We made around 300 tamales in various savory and sweet flavors. So much fun!  (There were three families present, we cooked up about 60 for the meal and then all went home with around 70 to freeze.)  Super fun times.  :D  I'm glad that I can still enjoy doing things like this with friends, which is important to me, and also not feel the need to shove all the food into my face.  

Today is another crazy day.  I've got my longest training run before my first half marathon... 13.2 miles.  Which is... just a bit over a half marathon.  Then I'll die.  Well, actually, then I'll have to do all the school work I wasn't able to do yesterday.  My next two weeks of school involve exams in three of my classes and a paper in the fourth, so I need to be prepared for all of those!  Thankfully my partner offered to go grocery shopping and will also put dinner stuff into the slow cooker today, so at least I won't have to deal with those things.  

1: protein bar pre-run
2: clif bloks during run (I'll consume around 6 of the cubes.)  
3: maybe a protein shake post-run?
4: slow cooker honey sesame chicken (Art will replace the honey with something else - sugar or maple syrup, not sure)

liquid and vites: better be on track... 
exercise: 13.2 miles, omg, yoga stretching.

Wow, you are one busy person, Gwen!  It makes me tired just reading your daily routine lol

I never thought I'd hear myself say these words but--I can't wait until I can get back to my exercise routine!  Yep, you heard it here first, folks! lol  My left knee hurts so bad just walking makes me wince, so haven't been able to exercise for several days.  Tomorrow I get my cortisone shot, and all will be well with the world again.  Today I'm avoiding salt, too much yesterday feeling a little bloated, so back to basics.

E: Struggling to find a not-long-post-surgery activity to do indoors in a snow storm. 

 

We're due to get 10-14" of snow today, so it's likely I'll be doing some house cleaning and entertaining of my children plus the neighbor kids. I'm sure they'll be turning their PJ's inside out for a snowday tomorrow.

I had a bit of carbs last weekend and I lost 5 pounds this week so I'm experimenting with carb cycling. I had a sausage mcmuffin with egg and cheese but I only had one half of the muffin. I had a large Wendy's chili for lunch. I'm not sure what I will do for dinner tonight but most likely it will have more carbs than usual. The rest of my week will be my normal low carb, high protein life.
