Day 3 of liquid preop and shaky

Today was my 3rd day of my liquid diet and it was probably the hardest in terms of how I was feeling. Yesterday I struggled with a lot of cravings, but today I've just felt kinda sick. I'm jittery and obviously hungry, I also feel like I might faint sometimes and with that I feel flushed and nauseated too. I'm assuming this is fairly common. I drank a few Powerade Zeros throughout the day and I felt a little better. I've stuck with the 3 protein drinks and veggies and broth when I'm beside myself with hunger. Does it usually get better after day 3 or 4?

Day 3-4 is when it does tend to get better, yes :)  Keeping hydrated is great and the powerades should help as well.  Try to keep your eye on the prize - you CAN do this!

It gets so much better I promise!  You are on your way to looking and feeling the best that you probably have in a long time keep that in mind and it will power you through.

I had headaches too.  Probably from caffeine withdrawl.  I went to bed early most nights which kept me out of the refrijerator.  Ihave crappy willpower, but I made it.  You can too!

That first week is tough, the cravings are bad, the hunger is bad. The good news is, it gets better every day. I am currently in my last week of a 4 week pre-op diet. I just gave in to the monotony of the shakes. The veggies certainly helped to fill the void at first, but after a little while, the hunger just went away. I have a calendar on my fridge that has a countdown to my surgery date, crossing off each of the days as they passed really helped me to stay focused. You can absolutely do this!!

For me adding in chicken bouillon helped so much. The salt just made me feel better, but be careful not to overdue it.

I am on day four. I feel better today than I did yesterday. I find if I drink a lot of water it helps. my surgery is on Feb 14. So it's coming up quickly. I am hoping the hunger is lessened after the surgery!
