Protein Powder?
I second the ON 100% Isolate powder - I've used it for the past couple of years and it's one of the better ones that I have found to my taste (though I rarely use it straight, I usually blend it with other things.) My wife uses the vanilla in her smoothie concoction and I use the chocolate. The other ON products are various blends so may not work as well as the pure isolate if what you are seeing is lactose intolerance. Likewise, the Quest powders are pretty good, but are whey blends so may not settle as well for the lactose intolerant.

I really like quest brand protein. Their vanilla is pretty good alone, I add some sugar free drink syrups to mine though. Their peanutbutter is delicious, in my opinion.

Yum! Peanut Butter! Will have to try it as well. Thank you for your reply!

if you're getting most of your protein from shakes (this would affect newbies more than people far out from surgery, like the OP), you're better off with a whey protein isolate since it's better absorbed than most. If you're getting most of your protein from your food and are using shakes more as a convenience item (or you just like them), then a blend is probably fine. Just thought I'd mention this since some of the brands being suggested are protein blends...

I use the ON Gold Standard Vanilla and buy the big bags from Costco for $59.99 for six pounds. 24g protein. I like the taste. And if you don't like it after buying it at Costco, you can return it and they'll refund the full price you paid.
