I'm going to scream

I'm going to scream! I had vsg on 1/6/17 and lost 20lbs. However, I've been in a stall for almost 2.5 weeks. I thought it broke over the weekend once I hit my cycle. I say this because I was up a few lbs and on Saturday I lost 1.8lbs then sunday 1.3lbs but last night I was up again. Now I'm still where I was on my first post op visit. The inches seem to pour off but the weight won't move. I know stalls are normal and I know i have to wait it out but will it ever happen? I'm getting rather frustrated and starting to regret changing my whole life just to be more aggravated. Please tell me this won't last forever

Look for 3 week stall in the search box. It's pretty common.

Hang in there and stay on plan.

Good luck!

It's been just over 3 weeks, and you've lost 20 pounds. Relax. You will not lose that much in a month again, so get used to it. Work your plan like it is your number one mission in life, and you'll be fine.

Hang in there, that is very typical for the process. It is really good you are noticing inches coming off. That is how it tends to work, either losing pounds or inches. When stalled, it is inches. Hang in there and keep yourself on plan. 20 pounds is a lot for one month, so you body just needs time to catch up and heal!

My hubby is in a similar situation.  He had his on 12/22 and has been bouncing around the same 5 lbs for a couple of weeks.

This is totally notmal!

You have changed everything and are annoyed and frusterated because you don't have your friend / crutch food anymore and are not getting drastic results everyday.  It's normal.

Your body is also behaving normal.  You have lost 20 lbs in less than a month -- that is crazy.  If you lost 20 lbs every month you would lose 120 lbs in 6 months -- that doesn't happen or if it does is insanely rare.

Realistically if you lose 10 lbs a month you are on a great track.  That equats to not much more than 2 lbs per week.  if you are weighing every day and not writing it down and tracking trends you will go bonkers.  You will have weeks where you lose nothing and weeks where you drop 5 lbs.

Keep doing the right action.  If you do, you will be amazed at how far you have come in 1 year.  You gotta trust the process.

My stall started a week out from surgery and lasted 22 days. It won't last forever.

If you know stalls are normal and that you just have to wait it ojt, why let the frustration take center stage?  No need to add more stress to your body why it is trying to heal. If you are following your plan the weight will come off. Have some faith.

Thank you so much for this question and to all the responses. My husband had his sleeve done 1/4/2017 and he was getting so discouraged. Letting him know others were having the same issue makes it easier on him :)

GOD, I remember this!  Inches flying off and the scale absolutely not moving.

Don't worry.  You'll be totally flying in no time!
