Surgery completed on 1/23/17 - now comes the hard part....
Hi Everyone:
Everything went fine with my sleeve. I only stayed one night in the hospital as I couldn't sleep with the nurse coming in every 2 hrs to check my vitals. I'm now free of Metformin, my HP meds, and the sleep apnea machine. Now, if down the road I don't pee when I laugh, cough, or sneeze, I'll be soooo happy.
It hurts getting up from a chair/bed/toilet etc. but I have to move so I'll endure. My husband thinks it's funny because I've been burping and farting all day. I guess I really am the little engine that could! Chuga chuga choo choo.
So far today I've had a protein drink, lots of water (17 oz so far), 2 SF popsicles, and about 2 oz of Greek light & fit yogurt. Tonight is broth with unjury in it.
I think I'm going to take a small nap. I haven't weighed myself since the surgery. I asked for a scale before I went home and the nurse couldn't find it (they only have one on the floor).
I'll weigh in tomorrow...after I burp up a couple of pounds lol.
Take care everyone. I hope you can make room for me on the loser's bench.
Jan

Congrats on your start of this journey! It's common to be sore 2-5 days after surgery. I was in a lot of pain until the 3rd day, then I was fine.
I ordered myself the Vive scale on Amazon. If I remember correctly, it's about $25. It is accurate up to 0.2 lbs.
Yay for releasing excess gas! I wish I did after surgery, because I'm sure I would have felt so much better, lol.
Good luck!

Congrats! I'm 8 days post op. You will be much less sore in a few days. I really had a turning point around the 5-6 day mark where I started feeling a lot better!

Just remember, they pump you with so much fluid before and during surgery, that you very well may be up several pounds, so don't let that bother you. A lot of us were shocked at the first weigh in because we weren't prepared. It will go away in a few days, then you will see the pounds melt away. Congratulations and welcome to the Loser's Bench!!!!!
Hi Cathy
If it wasn't for all of you telling me I would have freaked out. I'm up 9 lbs since Monday's surgery. My husband even looked at the scale in disbelief because he knows what I'm eating.
Time will tell.
Thanks again for the reminder.
