Food scale

For the first few months after surgery, volume is most important. You don't want to stuff too much into your new stomach, so measuring cups can be really helpful.

Once you are healed and can eat more, a food scale is, in my opinion, absolutely vital. Calories really, really matter. And there is absolutely no way to get an accurate calorie count from volume. You just have to weigh. My scale was about 12 bucks on Amazon, and is accurate to .05 ounces.
