January 23 is my date.....

Hi Everyone:

After reading this forum and all of the ups and downs of VSG, it's now my turn to turn the page and start a new chapter.  I'm a bit nervous but excited as well.  The thought of throwing away my Metformin, high blood pressure meds, and my sleep apnea machine make me extremely happy.

Four years ago I quit smoking and I thought that was better than the day I graduated college.  Now, I think the VSG will outdo them both.  I'm looking forward to being healthy again. Lungs are clear - it's time to get back to the basics of walking, swimming, and kayaking. Have to move and enjoy my life again.

Thank you everyone for providing me with a full picture of what life with VSG is all about.

I hope that I'll have some "words of wisdom" down the road for someone else but I think all of you have just about covered it all.

Congratulations! If you are like me it will be the best thing you ever do for you and your health!

What a great decision! I am only 2 weeks post and I feel fabulous. I'm sure you will too. Congrats and be well !

Kayaking sounds like so much fun!  I hope you'll post pictures when the time comes.

I'm having surgery on Feb. 1st, so just a bit after you.  I'm looking forward to doing a short bicycle tour :-).
