Two week post op

It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and I am SO happy to be past the liquid phase. The last few days of it were the hardest and simply from just being so tired of drinking only. You get to where you want some texture in your mouth. I admit my first bite of food was pretty ecstatic lol.

I have lost 12lbs in the two weeks since surgery, 17lbs in the four weeks of liquids I have been on and a grand total of 22lbs since my initial consultation. I have been cleared for most exercise and more importantly sex!!! Blue wanted to throw her out of the room right then so he could act on that clearance LOL.

For any of y'all considering this surgery, I can't say enough times how glad I am that I made this decision. I truly believe this is just the tool I needed to get to the healthy me.

Thank you so much for posting how you are doing.  I have a consultation with a surgeon on Jan 11 and attending an information seminar on Jan 9.

Over the past 4 months, I've been researching different WLS: risks, recovery time, price, etc.

I'm excited and scared about the appointment, but know I need to do something to move forward.

Best wishes on your journey!  I'd like to add you so I can follow your success.

You will do great!! I am looking forward to reading your success!!!

I have my appointment with my surgeon on January 3rd and have completed 1 month of the 3 month meetings with my doctor for supervised visits.

When does your insurance consider 3 months done. When was your first appt?

Great way to start the new year! The next two months will fly by. My consultation was May 23,2016 then I had to do 4 consecutive monthly visits with a nutritionist to meet my insurance requirements the a 30 day wait for approval that ended up being a 60 day wait due to a mess up on my surgeons office. Despite all of that, it flew by!!! Before I knew it it was surgery time!!

I am 2 weeks, 2 days post sleeve today!  I was only on liquids for one week, and started "soft" foods one week post surgery (chicken, fish, cooked veggies).  It's been a great success so far.  I had a few concerns the first and a half or so, however, I was told my little aches and pains were my "new normal - until my body adjusted.  And it is certainly adjusting quicker than I thought!  Like you, I'd definitely recommend this surgery and have had a total positive experience.  Very grateful for my support system!

Congrates on your sucess and moving past liquid stage. I had my surgery the day before yours but my doctor requires 4 weeks of liquids before I can move on to pureed food. I'd cut off my right arm right now for something other than protein shakes, yogurt, jello and broth. Most of it is so sweet it makes me nauseous now. Down 18 pounds since pre-op so that's a plus!

Keep up the great work!
