Ability to critical think, problem solve, and concentrate
I have never seen anyone having abnormal brain function after surgery. Allowing a day or two to recover from anesthesia, you'll be fine.

I've never heard of abnormal brain functions after surgery & the anesthesia wore off. You might be tired as hell though to go teach a class. Just keep in mind everyone heals differently, at different rates etc, leaving a little wiggle room beyond 14 days would be a good idea if you can do it., maybe a teachers assistant to help with the class?, at least till you know that you're ok on your own.

The only problems that I have heard of more relates to going overboard on the low carb dieting rather than the surgery itself, one of the reasons that I never went there. If you have done some of those in the past, you can judge how you reacted to them.

This experience is very specific to the person, but I can tell you that I couldn't have done it. It took me about 6 weeks before I felt like myself again. I couldn't even handle the television for a couple of weeks because the pictures moved too fast. Others have also found their critical thinking to be a bit fogged for a while.

I am a teacher and went back to work after two weeks. My brain was foggy for a while, but I don't think it really affected my teaching that much (my teaching was probably a 7 or 8 on a 10 point scale for a while, still good but not great). I was completely exhausted for about 6 months.

I am one week post op today and feel like my brain is functioning normally. I had a headache for a couple days until the anesthesia wore off and I do get tired much faster but the brain seems ok, lol Each person's recovery is different, but I would venture to say that after 14 days you should be feeling at least greatly improved, providing you follow doctors plans as far as nutrition and make sure you are getting adequate rest, hydration, and appropriate exercise.
