I am officially in "wait for grades to post" phase of the term.  I have submitted all my work.  I'm spending the day at the movie theater to celebrate - going to see Miss Sloane and Loving.  Assuming traffic past the new MGM doesn't screw me over!  As a result of this, my meal plan is bad.  Do not follow my example here.

1: protein shake
2: protein bar + popcorn!
3: the non-dumpling parts of chicken and dumplings

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: resting after all the fitness classes yesterday!

How about you?

After many weeks with my weight hovering around 168, I weighed in at 163 today.  Hoo-ray!  I have been dieting strictly for weeks with no results, and yesterday the scale finally moved.  Today its down again.

Yesterday, I ate out for two meals and I was so good.  At the indian restaurant, I didn't have any bread, appetizers or rice.  I ate Chicken Saag and Chicken Tika Masala.  That was a feat!  At lunch, I ordered the greek salad topped with salmon, and I skipped the dressing -

Today I have my grandson's birthday party, and if I were smart, I'd choose to skip the birthday cake because they always buy wonderful cakes.  I'll let you know tomorrow if I can do it.  I sure do want to maintain my weight loss.  That's more important than the few minutes of pleasure from a piece of cake.  Especially when the cake will make me want more cake.  Its been such a struggle defeating the carb cravings.  Its worth the effort to sustain.

breakfast - salmon

Lunch - eating at the birthday party.

Dinner - chicken with apricots and olives - yum

snack - 1/4 cup of almonds

We'll see how it goes.

Hi All :)

So great to see so many of the same faces here!  I'm back on the boards because my husband is having VSG on the 20th, so I am trying to get all the info I can.

My eating has evolved over the last few years.  I have gained some weight as I have been doing a significant amount of crossfit and needed to rebuild some muscle.  I'm the strongest that I have ever been in my life!  It is hard to see the numbers on the scale go up a bit, but my numbers at the gym are going up too so its an interesting trade off.  I can still see my abs and my cheek bones and can throw 100+ lbs over my head and can deadlift over 200 lbs.  So reaching for some new #s these days.  My next big goal is body weight unassisted pull ups.  This is going to take some more time though.

Since my husband is on his pre-op diet, I'm considering adjusting back for a little bit and kind of relearn the low / no carb lifestyle for a little bit to support him.  I'll probably keep most of my carb intake to lunch / afternoon while I'm at work.

Today:

B - chike, protein pancake

S - blackberry vanilla protein shake

L - leftover pizza

D - Season's 52 (yum - not sure what I'll order)

W - always drinking

E - 7x2 split jerks, 50-40-30-20-10 calories on the rower & push press (24:56)

I have stayed away from the boards a bit because I know my eating doesn't follow the typical VSGer and I don't want to discourage anyone.

Wait. What?? When did you get married?? Congrats!!

No one has to follow the same plan, but if you are not eating a typical VSG diet AND you have not lost the 15 pounds of regain you wanted to lose last spring, then you are not discouraging to anyone but yourself.

I got married in July.  He is pretty amazing :)

I have not lost the 15 lbs.  I am actually 20 lbs up total.  I had a body fat test done last month and my body fat % is actually lower now than when I was at my lowest.

I definitely struggle mentally with the numbers and some weird body dismorphia issues.  I know I am healthier now than I was 20 lbs lighter - when I was fainting frequently - running 6+ miles per day and eating ~800-1000 calories.  I was skinny, not exactly skinny fat, but not muscular.  I like feeling strong.  Parts of me want to be 'skinny' but I don't think it is ever a label I will feel comfortable with or something I ever see myself as but instead something I would always chase.  I have been skinny (but didn't think it at the time) - I wouldn't say I'm skinny now, I'm healthy and strong and can see my abs!  Everyone does not have to follow the same plan.  And being at a certain # is not required for me to not be discouraging to myself.  I'm proud of where I am and proud of the work I am doing to both physically and mentally stay healthy.

For me eating ~1200 calories a day is not healthy with the amount of 'work' I want my body to perform.  It took me a while to realize this and even longer to accept it.

I guess I don't come back to these boards for more than the reason of feeling like my plan is different than most here.  I have been spending less time online in general and when I am online I spend more time on my fitness pages/ groups.

I'm sorry that I came off so defensive to your post.  After reflecting the last week I think you make a good point.

Had a great night at the Christmas Party last night.  Ate well.  Danced.  And don't feel guilty about tastes of deserts.  Got up this morning down on the scale, so that made me feel good too.  Of course, that was only a little over 30 minutes ago...

Noon: Coffee + ON white chocolate protein once it cools a bit

Lunch: 3 oz Chicken breast

Dinner: 4 oz Chicken Breast

Evening Snack: Peanut Butter Creme Protein Bar
