New to the Forums- HELLO!!

Greetings! I thought I posted this last night, before I started replying to posts, but apparently not?  Thought I should introduce myself so y'all aren't wondering "*Who the heck is THAT?*"

I'm AD, and I had VSG on 11/15/16, which feels a little bit like a new birthday for me.  I've had weight issues since puberty. In high school, I was called "the fat chick", although when I look back at those pictures, I am NOT as large as I was lead to believe. More proof that people should perhaps keep unfavorable opinions to themselves? :)

I decided on WLS, because of several co-morbidities, including recurrent umbilical hernias. While WLS won't eliminate that issue, my surgeon feels that the resulting weight loss will decrease the pressure in the area. I currently have a hernia which they could not fix during the WLS, because it was "too involved", so I know I have another surgery somewhere down the road.

I'm currently in the Phase 2 Diet, which is "full liquids". It's Day 2 (of 7), and I'm pretty much tired of liquids. Looking forward to puréed stage.

I chose this forum because y'all seem like a friendly group, sharing lots of good information.  I hope I can provide good info for others as well.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the Loser's Bench.

Purees will seem like Nirvana when you get there. There are lots of good recipes on theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot as well as right here on the forum. I am pretty sure I got that blog title correct, but if not, I'm sure some others will be sure to get the right info to you.....bottom line is that there are some really good things on there....you won't be bored.

Meanwhile, you'll find lots of good stuff here....information, support, inspiration and a safe place to vent concerns or share your victories.

Best of everything on your journey!!!

Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.

Welcome!

Liquid fatigue was my biggest problem post-op. After ~4 weeks of liquids pre and post op, puree day was the happiest day of my life :P
