Yay, it's the weekend! I can't believe American Thanksgiving is this week, though, I feel pretty much completely unprepared.  But I made my grocery list yesterday, and my turkey is ordered, so I guess I'm not THAT unprepared, I just feel that way.

My cardiologist wants me to wear compression stockings that are at least thigh high.  I tried out a pair yesterday that are light tights and all the way to the waist.  Problem?  With all the excess skin they press my panni to my body and then the skin folds get smelly.  :/  This is definitely suboptimal.  I'm hoping for plastic surgery in June - I wonder if this is something that could be included in the case to insurance?

1: protein shake
2: leftover asian beef mushroom broccoli slaw
3: grilled skirt steak with cilantro pestocreamy root vegetable pasta for the guys

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: long run and yoga stretching

How about you?

On a side note, I went and bought hair dye, cut my own hair, and went and got a pedicure. I've decided to start rewarding myself for loosing weight. I put everybody else first and I never spend money on myself. Then I wonder why I'm stressed and out and wanting to eat garbage.

This is a great plan!  Early on I treated myself to a pedicure every 10 pounds.  It was a great way to be kind to myself.

Hi All,

Happy Saturday. Yesterday was not a good day for the diet. My mood has not been good.  But today I'm toying with the idea of doing a 6 week immersion program to learn Spanish in Seville, Spain this winter/spring.  So this is cheering me up immensely.  My hubby won't do it with me.  He's just starting a project here that has caught his interest. That does makes it more affordable  (smile).  I've rarely traveled alone, but it would include classroom work 5 days a week, and some structured activities on some of the weekends.  I think I could make it work.

It will also be a lot of walking, which will be healthy for me.  I have to think about how I'll manage my diet there.  but its good to dream.

breakfast - salmon

lunch - pizza casserole

dinner - pesto chicken salad over spiralized cucumber.  yum

snack - not sure- either nuts, or some left-over chicken dish from the refrig.

I hope you are all well and happy, and enjoying the preparations for thanksgiving.

Carol

Carol--  I'm sure you get asked this question a lot....(I might have even asked it myself before!)

I note that you eat salmon every day.  Do you have a favorite recipe that you eat regularly, or eat it several different ways?  If it's a favorite recipe, could you share it, please.

I've been enjoying shrimp lately .... use it in salads and my Cauliflower Fried Rice, or just boiled with some ****tail Sauce.  I want to add more seafood.... love Cod and Pollock so I'm checking out some recipes for them.

That sounds like an awesome opportunity!!  I'm sure you'd have no trouble finding things that were VSG friendly to eat.  :)

Spain is one of the most fabulous places in the world to eat low carb. I could have easily just eaten buckets of jamón and nothing else.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Gwen, a word in your ear about the skin fold problem -- Zeasorb. Works great.

  1. Coffee w/cashew milk
  2. Chicken breast, homemade vegetable minestrone
  3. Slow-cooker cranberry pork chop, whipped cauliflower, tomato slice
  4. Snack: Bit of cheddar with homemade cranberry/orange/apple relish

W&V: Water on track. I'm out of vitamin patches; more arriving any day.
