1 day post-op

I'm having these weird cramps right in the center of my stomach. kinda like labor pains. Weird. And now I have a red line around the biggest incision (where the cramps are) Doesn't a red line mean infection? The DR just looked at it too. 

Anybody have this too!

If the Dr. looked at it and you shared your symptoms then I would follow their protocol.  I had a lot of pain around the incision where the remainder of the stomach is pulled out of.  It was cranky for a number of days.  Wearing the binder really helped me.

If you're still in the hospital, make sure to keep the nursing staff and your surgeon alerted to your discomforts. You just had major surgery, so it's not surprising that you have some pain and that the incisions look raw. If you keep improving a little every day, you have nothing to worry about. If anything worsens, call your surgeon right away.
