NSV -- my friends are developing amnesia.

A very delightful NSV occurred the other day while talking with a longtime friend. We were talking about my grandson (okay, I was talking about my grandson), and I mentioned how much I love playing on the floor with him now compared with not even being able to get up off the floor just two years ago.
She looked at me in confusion for about 15 seconds until the light bulb went off. She actually forgot (for a few seconds anyhow) just how obese I was two years ago!
For my friends, the slim me has now become the norm and my old overweight and cumbersome image is slowly fading into the background. May that image rest in peace for a long, long, long time.

I totally agree that the old heavier image fades with people we know and see regularly. So glad that it took your friend some thinking to even realize what it meant!
