ONEderland and a NSV!

So last week I hopped on the scale to see that I was at 199.5!! It hasn't moved in several days, but I made it to ONEderland!!! I haven't been under 200 lbs since high school, so I was super stoked to see that #!

As for the NSV... I took my son to his 3 year well child visit last Wednesday. His pediatrician was asking all of the normal developmental questions and then looked at me and said "How about you? Everything good with you?" I was kind of thrown off and I said "Yes, everything is good" and she responded with "I only ask because you are like 1/2 the person you were last time I saw you and wanted to make sure it was intentional and that you are not sick or anything". I told her about the surgery and she congratulated me. She said she was blown away when she walked into the room. So that made me happy!!

It's funny because I have lost 87 lbs in about 5 months and I can probably count on both of my hands the number of people who have said something to me or inquired about my weight loss. I don't expect or need compliments, I just thought maybe it wasn't as noticeable (everyone carries their weight differently).  :)

Congrats!!  I think a lot of time people are hesitant to say anything because of the stigma attached with weight.  I've had people speak to my husband to make sure I wasn't sick and then, when they find out it was intentional, they are full of compliments.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats.......my surgery was June 6 and I'm down 48 as of this morning. I was hoping to hit Onederland by my birthday on the 3rd, but I have another 2 pounds to go....so, hopefully by next week I'll be joining you.

Glad to hear that the pediatrician was concerned not only with your child, but with you as well.... that's a good doctor in my view.

Keep up the good work!

Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.

Congrats on your continued success and I'm so glad you are feeling good :)

When it comes to complimenting someone on their weight I always find this a tricky subject. I rarely see someone being told "you've put on 50 pounds, congrats you look great" and that also kind of bugs me. It's how we get so caught up in 'our weight makes us who we are' thinking.

With weight loss (or gain for that matter depending on someone's build or objectives) it is the side effects like moving freely, having more energy, feeling good, that I tend to focus on. For someone who has sat on both sides of the fence I understand the hard work that goes in to getting yourself into a motivated, positive space when it comes to our weight.

I'm so pleased the paediatrician was tactful and supportive of you. Keep up the hard work!
