Hello I am looking into getting the gastric sleeve surgery but I am worried I won't be approved through my insurance because my bmi is not at 40. It's at 39.7, I don't have sleep apnea or hypertension, diabetes.... however I do have pcos, osteoarthritis in my knees, , gerd, fatty liver, migraines, mitral valve regurgitation and tricuspid valve disorder. All which will improve with weight loss I have tried everything but due to pcos it has been extremely hard no matter what I try.. what do you guys think as far as me getting approved. I have blue cross of california blue anthem PPO I got approved for a breast reduction surgery but they suggested me losing all the weight first. Thank you

You are so close to 40 BMI that eating a salty meal, drinking a large amount of water and wearing heavy clothes might put you at 40.  Or have a big eating week before your appointment.  At my height (5'3"), the difference between 39.7 and 40 is 2 pounds.

It is two pounds. I have so many health issues that having pcos doesn't help lose weight. Most of them are related to obesity. I do slouch cause my boobs are so heavy on my chest. Everyone keeps telling me I'll get approved but I wanna be guaranteed

Rolls of quarters in your pockets & slouch when they measure your height.

I do slouch already cause my breast are so heavy so it measures me at 5'10 and my weight fluctuates between 275-277
