Funny story while I was in the hospital...
So, there I am, post surgery, NPO since 6am and it is now 9:30am, going to get my upper GI to check for leaks and start the process to going home. The transport people come get me, we get on the elevator to the 2nd floor. Guess who shares the elevator with us? A woman with a COFFEE CART! Smelled so good, and I do love my coffee! That was one.
Push me into waiting area for Radiology. TV is on...what's playing? COOKING SHOWS! lol I kid you not! I look up to see some guy pouring hot thick chocolatey pudding mixture into a bowl and topping it with whipped cream. GOOD GRIEF! That was two.
Now for the trifecta. Upper GI done, can't wait to get back to my room for some yummy beef broth. Elevator opens but I'm being backed in so I can't see who is in there until we're all the way in. As the doors close I look over...4 female staff members WITH THEIR BREAKFASTS. Bacon and eggs, thick french toast and bacon, a muffin...etc. I just looked...groaned "OMG"...and looked away with my head in my hand. The muffin lady said, "I wouldn't be happy right now either if I was NPO...did I guess right?" I said "Yes" all four of them in unison started apologizing. It was just too funny. I told them no worries, I just had WLS and I can't have any of that anyway.
I was so glad they got off on the next floor HAHAHAHA
glad you're able to see the humor - it's good to laugh.....and more importantly, soon you'll see the results too!
congrats on getting your seat on the Loser's Bench!!!
I've found that food isn't all it's cracked up to be..........I really thought I'd miss all those big meals, but I don't....and the good thing is that when I go out to eat, my take home / doggie bag is good for at least 2 or 3 more meals..........wow, is my honey saving me money!!!
best of everything in your journey....now go drink up all that delicious beef broth!
Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.
