Whatcha eating today? Saturday, 10/22/2016
It was great to see so many people participate yesterday! Let's keep it up!
After having the AC on yesterday, the heat is on today. High is in the 50s! I can't wait to run tomorrow. Today I've got the farmers market and then Jack Reacher before I spend the rest of the day on school work. I hope that you are all having a more exciting Saturday than me :D
1: protein shake
2: no more curry, sigh - beef stew
3: grilled green chicken, roasted brussels sprouts with sweet chili sauce - I've got chicken legs and boneless breasts marinating. I'll stick to the legs, but Art always prefers breasts to dark meat since he's a weirdo. So I tend to do both.
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: maybe some yoga
How about you?

It's cold here too. Not quite enough for the heater,so, I'm all bundled up in blankets and sweat pants lol
will probably be a Netflix kind of day :)
B- pumpkin spice coffee, protein bar
L - tilapia, salad
D - chicken and broccoli casserole
s - unsalted sunflower seeds, protein pudding
vits - on schedule
exercise - me and my daughter may hit the gym after it warms up.
I WANT FISH. It's been forever, argh. I need Art to travel for business or something. :P Maybe I'll plan fish this week and just do a recipe that I can double and works for chicken as well. The trouble with living with a fish hater.
I've got the heat set to 72 in the house. I just can't function when it's cold anymore. Even 72 is pushing it though. I've got a blanket right now! Pretty soon I'll have to pull out the fleece leggings. And the cold gear for running!
Are you watching anything exciting? I feel like my DVR keeps getting more and more full, and Netflix keeps on putting out awesome new shows. I'm going to spend my entire winter vacation watching TV to catch up! I'm hoping that this weekend I'll at least be able to watch the Hamilton special that was on PBS last night. Woo!

Last Christmas I bought myself a "self warming" blanket. It holds your body heat in. I also keep an electric blanket on the bed all year long. Can't stand to get into a cold bed. (Shudder)
I can't function in the cold either, however I do a great impression of an Eskimo all bundled up for a trip to Antarctica LOL
today is opening day of deer hunting season so all the boys/ hubby are gone. My daughter will probably pick all the shows for today. which means cartoons.. right now, it's teen titans .. Yay lol
The self warming blanket sounds fantastic! I also sleep with the electric blanket on the bed all year - I've got those electric mattress pads so they're under me. I love it.
Hahaha - yay for cartoons! Enjoy :)

I baked several fish filets for me for my lunches. Stored in airtight container. I usually just sprinkle them with a pork seasoning (it has more chili, paprika, and stuff lol) and then top with shredded parm cheese. Broil for about 10 minutes and DONE!
Last night everyone was like I thought we were having fish? You thought wrong ! those are my lunches LOL
maybe if I hide them in the fridge, I won't have to share????
A really good recipe to make which will work for both is: "Mardi Gras Catfish Gumbo" (no roux & you can sustitute chicken or smoked sausage for any whitefish) recipe found on cooks.com http://www.cooks.com/recipe/js35k8fw/mardi-gras-catfish-gumb o.html
It's more of a stew & if you add Gumbo File, it will thicken it a little. I also save some time by using frozen "gumbo" veggies.
Enjoy!
Thanks! I've never actually made gumbo - maybe I'll give it a try once it gets a little cooler :) Seems like it would be easy enough to make two batches.

Even easier.....you only have to make one batch because you add the protein at the end of the cooking time. After making the veggies just split that into two pots & finish cooking your fish in one pot & cooked chicken or sausage in the other. Also great if you prefer one spicer than the other. ? Enjoy!
Awesome!
