Can't wait to return to the gym - 3 more weeks!!!
Probably not a common thought for many people, but I sincerely enjoy going to the gym. I get an entire hour to myself, the gym daycare watches my kids for no extra charge as its included in the monthly membership and it's true "ME" time. I am so excited to be able to return in less than a month and boost my weight loss and try my best to tone this body up to the best of my ability for this new me! :) I have my 3 week follow-up on Wednesday and for once in my life, i am not dreading getting on that scale because I know I will be less than I was at my 1 week check-up. I'm almost at -50lbs since i started with my initial consultation. -17lbs since surgery! It's exciting!!! :)

I totally get it. I'm at the gym right now likely for my last time before my surgery and I'm dreading several weeks without my endorphin boost.

There's no reason that you can't go now and walk on the treadmill for an hour.

I could, but I get super easily bored on the treadmill, I'm an elliptical and Zumba girl. So the Dr told me to wait. I'm going to ask on Wednesday if I can go back to the elliptical. It's not like I'm running at marathon speeds on there. Lol!

The elliptical was also my machine of choice pre-op, but I grew to love walking due to all the post-op walking. And then running. I wasn't to elliptical for 6 weeks post-op due to the twisting it causes in the abdomen.
Maybe add something to make the treadmill more exciting? Podcasts, audiobooks, or my favorite - Zombies Run!

I agree. Its just so darn loud in the gym, its hard to watch a movie. Maybe i'll throw on Netflix and start a new series and bring my noise cancelling headphones and only watch it when i'm there. :) That's a good idea. I just don't want to get bummed out and bored because I can't do much. I can get in 5-10 miles when i'm on the elliptical. The treadmill, not so much. Lol.

Right after surgery when all I could do was walk, I would watch a movie and only allow myself to watch while on the treadmill. It gave me something to look forward to every day. The treadmill is really boring and I need a book, movie or TV show to get through it.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
That's great. But exercise will not significantly impact your weight loss. It's great for your body and overall health, and for strength training.
Good luck!
