Help; been having really bad 'gas pain?' attacks..
Yes. It often made me cry in pain... Mine did not last long...5-15 min... That's how we knew there may be narrowing somewhere ..the food would travel to that point - then the pain would start - intensify to pain that often made me cry...then once the pain your pass - the area was tander but not painful.
When I went on all liquids for 2-3 days - the pain was not that... Also slider foods did not caused that much pain. But dense proteins, or food with fiber - and I was crying...
I had days I only ate solid foods once a day. It was either be hungry or in pain...30-60 min after I ate..
Low fat was worse... High fat allows things "to slide"...
Then I may have weeks with no pain. As if the intestine got free from hernia...then the pain would return.
But - even if you have GB surgery - you may still have stones - they can form in the liver and get in file duct causing lot of pain.
I now have very sensitive gut. Gas from fiber or food that can cause gas (i.a apples) creates pressure in my intestine and pain. I have pills - sublingual -hyoscyamine- that really help with the gut twisting and hurting...
I don't recommend- but wine with food when I had the hernia worked better than any pills. However - that can lead to alcohol dependency. But sometimes when we were out - a glass of wine with dinner really helped not only with the pain but also digestion and relaxed the gut allowing the food to pass. I don't recommend that...but I do that once in a while When I am eating out and can't control what is in my food. (garlic and onion causes a lot of cramps for me)

I have no breaths available to even cry, I literally can not breath. It feels as though someone is squeezing my insides (solar plexus area under my breasts) to my back. I am hunched over almost in a fetal position because the pain hurts to move, or even think of what to do. I cant breath. Breathing out is minimal to none, and trying to breath in is limited. I almost pass out from lack of breathing. It's awful and I almost went to the ER - again - from this. It has mostly happened during night time hours after I have eaten my last meal / snack. And everything I had that day was healthy. Shake. Veggies w/ small hummus. Salad for lunch with grilled chicken, and same for dinner. So I have no idea. No alcohol, no acidic or carbonated drinks. I have cut them out for the most part anyway. It's so scary and extremely painful and I cant breath and almost pass out from it.
I would be going to the ER if I had these symptoms. It could be your heart, it could be anything. There's a lot going on in that area.

Which is why I'd go back to ER. You've had 8 additional months of symptoms including ruling out GERD from the GI doc. So you can fight them when they try to discharge without a diagnosis, because you have continued symptoms and a ruling out of what they claimed.
You've got to be your own best advocate here, which sometimes means being an asshole until you get a proper resolution.

Unfortunately most ER do not diagnose beyond things that are - can be life threatening. They give simple diagnose and send the person to a specialist.
And if the pain is itermitent- and lasts 10 -30 min - they often don't do anything. Except taking copays..and refering the person to regular doc.

Yeap. Breathing was a challenge during the attack. Learn shallow breathing... Fetal position on a floor ...with fists stuck in my gut...after the atack.. Often would not dare touch my gut.
Salads with chicken - that would have kill me. I still don't eat salads.
If in can sugest something - until you know what is going on - salads are too much fiber and difficult to digest - same with raw fruits. Or any raw veggies.
For time being - try only slider - mushy food with some fat for lubrication.... Cooked veggies - low fiber foods and veggies... And lots and lots of water- drinks in between meals...to push the food down...
Make sure you are not constipated. That +constipation... Really bad idea...
I was able to eat cooked carrots and sweet potatoes, with some cooked dark chicken meal... And added fat like avocado.. Fibrous veggies - they would take forever to pass the narrowing... Any grains - no way.
Yogurt, mushy creamy soups....cottage cheese (not fat free) ...avocado is really great food...
Even good protein drinks.. But add fat. Think of fat as a lubrication. Pain indicates thebtisdue is being stretched to a point of tearing.... You are damaging your intestine. Then they get swollen and gets more damaged causing more and more pain... I would do 2-3 days only clear and full liquids... And then maybe advance to more mushy food... Untill They can figure out what it is you are dealing with...

Thanks for that. . You had RNY. I had VSG. I know RNYers that cant eat what I can tolerate. I cant tolerate watermelon, apples (with out PB), avocado. But that's about it. I will have to see what this Gastro says, and maybe reach out to a WLS surgeon (mine moved over an hour away and I cant trek there with 2 jobs).
Good luck ...
Btw - you can have a stone that formed in the liver and could travel in the bile duct... In that case - the more fat - the worse the pain - as the liver makes bile due to ingested fat and pushes the stone along.
I lived with pain like that for a while. After my RNY in 4 years I had additional 3 surgeries to fix my insides..
Good gastro may try to see if you have some gut spasms and try to treat that with meds. Even now - with my IBS - I don't leave the house without my hyocamine pills..
