Struggling
I've had a really rough few days. Not WLS related, but just in general. I'd been having some abdominal pain and, afraid it was my appendix, I went to the ER. They found a ruptured ovarian cyst, so painful but not a big deal. However, when doing the CT scan they also found cysts on my kidneys and said that I may have polycystic kidney disease. That has me freaked out. I've also had some pretty terrible migraines. So, all in all, just not feeling great. Fortunately, my eating hasn't really suffered too much. I don't feel well so I'm not inclined to eat. That is the only positive thing I've got going.
Thanks for listening.
Sorry you are going through this and hopefully you can get some clear answers sooner rather than later. News like this will get anybody down. Maybe the migraines have something to do with the weather change and will go away soon. I've had headaches every day for the last week and my husband got a migraine last weekend. I'm glad you are staying on track! That's not easy to do at times like this! Hang in there! I hope you get to feeling better!

That sounds really scary and exhausting. I'm sorry to hear you are going thru this. I know you're not really feeling hungry but I would suggest you keep up with some bone broth or similar, it will only make you feel worse when your nutrition takes a dive too. Best wishes I hope things get better soon
You have a lot going on for sure. Keep up the protein and your vitamins so you don't make things worse. All the best for a better tomorrow!

So sorry to hear you're having a rough patch. In the scheme of things, a ruptured ovarian cysts beats a hot appendix--thank goodness you don't need surgery! The damned imaging is such a double-edged sword, isn't it? Disclaimer: I am brand-new at this. I am an old healthcare professional, but a brand new WLS patient. Between last month and this, the imaging thing has taken me on a roller coaster ride too. The old "this looks fine, but did you know...?" My advice to you is not to get too worked up about the kidney findings based on CT alone. If you had significant kidney disease, I am guessing that you would have lab derangements and other symptoms by now. The up side of potentially getting that kind of news is that you may have gotten information found incidentally on your CT that gives you a chance to take great care of your kidneys. If you have PCKD, you didn't get it yesterday, you were born with it. IF. Don't stop eating--it's bad for you and may be aggravating or even causing your headaches. Give yourself some TLC.
Best, Lory
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you get good answers and solutions soon!
