I had my 2 year follow up with my surgeon today!  Seven months late.. Surgeon is totally thrilled with me. He's thrilled that this far out I'm down 6 lb since last year. He was over the moon when I told him that I've actually lost 20 since June due to gain after my dad's death.

He thinks I need to see a cardiologist as I shouldn't be experiencing orthostatic hypertension this far post-op. Which is good to hear since my PCP yesterday dismissed my concern.

And he thinks I could start pursuing plastics now if I was ready to. That's the weirdest thing. I still want to lose 50 lb and he says I can if I want, but that I don't need to as far as he is concerned. (My plan is to start investigating plastics in June or when I hit 150, whichever comes second.)

Yearly follow ups for forever I guess? Maybe March 2017 won't suck so much and I can be on time with my 3 year!

I'm spending my day in the college library, so I don't really know what's up with my meals.  I have a caesar wrap in a cooler in the car, though, so at least that's lunch!

1: protein shake
2: caesar wrap from Wawa
3: no idea

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: rest day - shins still super sore from Saturday, although much better than they were so I should be okay for the race this Saturday as long as I don't do anything stupid.

How about you?

Hi Gwen,

Congratulations on your success over the year.  Its great that you are still so committed and losing weight even two years out.  Well done, my friend!

I'm still holding my current weight, but not losing the extra pounds.  But I'll just keep on working on it

Breakfast - Dijon Lime chicken - I finished up some leftovers - yum.

Lunch - buffalo chicken with spaghetti squash - this is so good and healthy. - also yum.

Dinner - pizza casserole - the taste of pizza with no carbs and not-too-many extra calories.

snack - Rueben sweet potatoes - from my new cookbook.  Its great to have some new tastes.

water and vitamins - like clockwork

exercise - not so good

Congrats! It is so nice to do well!

I'm not feeling great today so I'm trying to make myself eat. I only had a little pork yesterday and some popcorn and I think that aggravated my yucky feeling.

B: leftover pork and an Anaheim chili with some cheese

L: fresh mozzarella with prosciutto, tomatoes, garlic and basil and perhaps a couple crackers

D: I have a chicken in the crock pot. I'm excited to use the leftovers to make buffalo chicken dip for the adults at my son's birthday party this weekend

V: forgot to get the, done this morning before I ate

W: on track today, making up for yesterday

E: suffering from migraines and a ruptured ovarian cyst so no exercise today

Awesome!  Healthy is where it's at and apparently you are!  I desperately want a tummy tuck but it hasn't reached the top of the budget yet, lol.  Not sure if it ever will.

B:  steel cut oats

L:  chicken out of a chicken caesar salad

D:  1/2 grilled cheese/soup

S:  too many sugar babies from the dollar store!!!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

E:  haven't walked but hit 10,000 steps already because I'm out in the corporate headquarters where you have to walk like a mile to get to your car... moving here permanently soon - maybe not a bad thing

I keep hearing that maintaining is harder than losing. Good to hear you're maintaining 2+ years post-op, even with some ups and downs and a few pounds to go. I think previously obese people will always be hard-pressed to stay at a single weight. Our addictions, compulsions, etc., tend to drive weight up, and our sleeves and hard-won experience bring it back down. I'm hoping to stay within a 10-pound range under my goal weight of 120 pounds (when I get there).

  1. Coffee w/cashew milk
  2. Homemade Maryland crab soup w/extra crab
  3. Same as 2.
  4. Snacks: 2 apples

W&V: On track and done

E: None
