I don't eat pasta. I think everyone misunderstood when I said "low carb spaghetti". I meant, meat and sauce with no pasta.

I second what Valerie said.

Any ground meat such as hamburger and sausage are crappy meat. That's why they grind it. It has really tough bits in there. You would do much better with a tender cut of beef, and skipping the pasta.

Definitely cutting out hamburger immediately. And, I don't eat pasta. I meant "low carb spaghetti" as just meat and sauce.

Note to others -- I don't think the OP is eating actual pasta. She(?) is just saying that the ground meat + sauce serves as a low carb version of or substitute for "spaghetti." OP, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Everyone is different, But I could not eat ground beef for months. It would make me sick. I avoided it for a while, but now I can have it with no problems. I had the same issues with tomatoes and bell pepper, but not now.

I'm definitely cutting out beef for now! Ate some chicken and shrimp this evening, went down smoothly!

My stomach is the opposite. Heavy meats, cheese & eggs sit really well! It's the casseroles, shakes, yogurts, veggies and softer stuff that hurts me. Strange.

Oh wow! I guess that's good for you, though. You can get more protein rich foods in!

This happens to me from time to time and it can be almost any food except veggies. My surgeon said to take a few small sips of water just before eating to lubricate the esophagus. I also pay extra attention to chewing my food to liquid consistency. One time I ate chicken breast and it was so bad I got the foamies, so be careful of early signs and back off right away.
