Food feeling stuck/moving into stomach
Hello everyone! Long time, no talk.
I am almost three months out from surgery and nearly 60 pounds down!!!!
Quick question, lately it seems when eating it feels as if I can feel food moving into my stomach and it's very uncomfortable! It almost feels stuck! I am not overeating, only around 1/4-1/2 cup per meal. Could I possibly be not chewing enough? Eating too fast? Tonight I had around 1/4 cup of ground beef with pasta sauce, NO PASTA (low carb spaghetti...haha), and I feel just miserable right now. Like the food is just inching its way into my stomach.
Any ideas?
My program warned against eating beef for the first 6 months because it is a tougher meat for the stomach to break down. Does it happen every time you eat? I would try going back to softer foods like tuna or chicken salad to see if that makes a difference.

First of all, ground beef can be difficult to eat unless it's cooked for a LONG time. It took me nearly a year until it stopped sitting in my stomach like a brick. Ditto for chicken breast - roasted thighs fared much better. Pasta - even low carb pasta- has a way of expanding in your stomach after the fact as it soaks up more moisture. You gave yourself a double-whammy there with that meal. Try concentrating on just slow-cooked meat and overcooked and soft veggies and leave all of the "extracurricular carbs" like pasta, rice, grits, oatmeal, etc. out of the picture for a couple of months.
