Feeling dizzy when I stand up

It usually seems to be gone by the one year mark.

I had a bunch of vein work done at 2 years or so. I had EVLT of the greater saphenous in one leg, and lesser saphenous in the other, plus a bunch of sclerotherapy. Yeah, I had f$cked myself up pretty well.

Thanks!  I wonder if I should be concerned because I'm 2.5 years out and there are still times I experience OH pretty significantly.  I guess this is one more thing I should remember to talk to my doctor about...

I see my surgeon for my 2 year followup on Tuesday (eek) so I might ask him.

You might think about seeing a vein specialist. They can do an ultrasound and see if they are working well. Mine showed that I had blown out the valves inside the veins in my legs. Instead of the blood flowing in only one direction, it was going backwards as well.

Thanks!  That's sort of scary... I guess I've been telling myself that this is totally normal and never thinking that maybe it's not normal for it to still be an issue 2.5 years post-op.

So, um, yeah.  I see my PCP and surgeon next week, so I'll mention these things to them and then look into a vein specialist.

could it be inner ear issues? I'm only asking because I've had vertigo from inner ear stuff for many years......on the other hand, I'm glad to have read through the other responses because maybe that's part of what I'm dealing with now too....only mine is most of the day and even when I'm lying down - I have a terrible time rolling over to my left side..........the whole world spins and it's awful.....and yes, I have an appointment with my doctor next week.

I hope you feel better soon.

I have severe nerve damage in my left ear from a virus many years ago, so I've struggled with vertigo since then.

Thank you for asking this! It happens to me too rather frequently (13 months post-op). Never was an issue before, never had any blood pressure problems, and my blood work looks totally fine.

Good to know it's nothing to be too worried about!

Low BP can cause this, and I've always had low BP.  Losing weight made it worse, so I started salting my food quite shamelessly, tossing all the rules and suggestions around keeping sodium low.  That definitely helped me.

In my case, people who watch me eat often wonder if steak and chicken aren't just salt delivery vehicles.
