I am 6 weeks post op VSG, I lost 17lbs the first week and and only 9lbs in the last 5. I am watching my eating (not eating anything I am not supossed to) and going to the gym 5-6 days a week. What am I doing wrong? I am so frustrated. Please help!

you aren't doing anything wrong.......it's just a temporary stall while your body readjusts to what it's going through. We all go through the same frustration....just keep on doing what you're doing and in a week or so you'll get the scale moving again. Make sure you get all your protein and fluids and you'll be fine.

and congrats on the 26 pounds lost......keep in mind that pre-surgery you weren't able to lose 26 pounds in 6 weeks.......remember????

You've lost 26lbs in 6 weeks.  That's great! Remember to stick to protein and water as much as possible and undereat your sleeve to help keep the restriction that you can't feel yet.  In other words if the doctors says to eat 3oz, eat 2oz.  You're doing great

 Surgery date 9-23-15, SW: 212 CW: 125

Doctors goal reached in 6 months. Personal goal reached in 11 months

Why do you think you're doing something wrong?

I feel like I could have lost 9lbs in 5 weeks without having the surgery. I know this is a tool. I guess that I expected to see bigger results.

But you didn't, did you?  And could you continue losing almost 2 pounds a week for more weeks to come without the surgery?  Again, I doubt it.  If you could have, you wouldn't have had surgery in the first place.

I'm not sure what your expectations were - did your surgeon leave you with the impression that it would only take a few months to lose 100 pounds?  Just as you didn't gain the excess weight in a few months, you won't lose it all in a few either. But you will lose it if you stick with the plan.

You are doing great! I am about 10 weeks out.  You are not alone -- last month I only lost 5 lbs. At my docotor visit last Tuesday the nutritionist told me to have a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and then dinner (protein and veg). She thought I wasn't getting enough protein. Took her advice and I am now down 7 in less than a week.

Are you female?  If so you may find that, like me, you only lose weight one week out of four.  For me it's week 1: lose the water weight I gained the week before.  Week 2...hold steady.  Week 3: lose 5-7lbs.  Week 4: put on as much as 4lbs of water weight.  Ummm...if you are a man, sorry for TMI!

I am female and that makes sense, so frustrating! Thank you for your response!

I think this is exactly what is happening to me! I'm going to make a calendar and test this out!
