so I wanted to know why some people ,like me ,have slower weightloss

i am following the plan , exercising every day more than I have done b4 surgery..

No matter what I do I am down 60 lbs in 7 months

no way am I complaining just wonder why some people drop so fast and others like me loose what feels like so slow

the only thing I can think of is I have major stress  since I did surgery and I am dealing with it as best I could  but maybe my body holds on to weight durring stress

thanks

I'm not sure how 60 pounds in 7 months could be considered slow?

Well my doctor wasn't happy with my weight loss

I am about 1.5 lbs a week that's" good for weigh****chers but not for being sleeved"

as I was told

That was a ****ty thing of your surgeon to say.  What do THEY think is the cause, since they're the one that feels so strongly about your loss being slow?

Stress, sunburns, muscle mass (reasons guys always lose faster than women), BMI, past weight loss, metabolism, height, etc. can all play roles in how fast we lose. Also note, that just hanging around these boards, I'm noticing every clinic/surgeon gives out a different pre and post op diet plan, so it's no wonder our losses are so different.  And, the odd surgeon tries to get creative with the surgery and the size of the pouch/sleeve.

So many factors play into this, just be happy the numbers are going in the right direction.  60 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at!

60 lbs in 7 months seems good to me! I lost 33 lbs on weigh****chers a few years ago and it took me six months. I seem to be a slow loser after the VSG and I will be thrilled if I lose 60 in 7 months. Enjoy your weight loss, you're doing great! Slow might even be better in the long run.

Thanks I usually do look at the big picture but I just let the nutritionist and dr get in my head a little

I am going to just keep on doing what I have been doing

46lbs left to go

I think your weight loss is fabulous. So much can vary from person to person - how much you weighed to begin with, your age, whether you are menopausal, how much you lost before surgery, hormones, etc. etc. etc.  Try not to compare and focus on your own journey.  Your doc and nutritionist are not doing you any favors by chastising you. Only you know what your intake is like.  If you don't already, journal all of your food for a week and see if there is any tweaking to do - like with the amount of carbs or protein you are getting in daily.  The fact that you are losing consistently tells me you are doing well. The post op plan varies from doc to doc too so do some research if you feel you need to change things up.
