Bring up the idea of an open surgery instead of Lap.  With that, scar tissue shouldn't be an issue with both of his hands there.  It only takes two weeks for the incision to heal, but plan on at least another month healing inside.

I had a band, it slipped. I had it replaced with another band. I was so scared of malabsorptive surgeries. Well the second band was significantly larger than the first and I regained all the weight I lost, plus some. So then I had the VSG, it was all good for a year. Then I started regaining, so I finally got the DS. Please take it from me, really research the DS before you get the VSG, I wish I had known about it at the time. It has the best longterm outcomes of any wls.

Did you have any complications after the 2nd band removal? Was there a lot of scar tissue? I don't know anyone who had 2 band surgies and then did the sleeve so I would love to pick someone's brain..Did you have any complications?
