I think I'm the slowest loser in history.

I'm two days shy of seven weeks out. My stats are as follows: 35 years old, 5'4'' HW 273, SW 252, CW 232. I lost 21 lbs pre-op and as of yesterday I have lost 20 post-op. I walk 2-4 miles a day (not counting work, which is constant walking or standing) and eat about 600-700 calories (high protein low carb). I drink lots of water and take my vitamins religiously. I started going back to work Tuesday and that's when I finally started losing a bit more, like two pounds this week instead of none (I have a high stress job with lots of heavy lifting and maybe the adrenalin is helping).

I was watching a bunch of six week youtube videos to see if ANYONE was losing as slowly as I am. Nope. There was one girl who is smaller than me who has lost about the same amount, maybe more, and she was very angry and swearing about how slowly she's losing.

I don't feel angry or upset, I feel good! The scale is going in the right direction and I feel great. Losing slowly has its benefits, like I haven't shrunk out of my clothes yet, with the exception of like two shirts. My bras seem like the perfect size now (I must've really been shoving 'em in there!)

Anyway, as much as I'm not upset about my slow weight loss, I feel like a total anomaly. When people post about their slow weight loss/stalls on here, I get excited until I see they've lost WAY more than me. Is there anyone out there with a similar BMI who hadn't lost 20 lbs at six weeks?

Keep eating right and doing everything by the book. Eventually, it has to come off. And when it does, for me it was usually a lot. They say when you don't see the progress on the scale, it's because you are loosing inches. Keep doing right and it will start to fall off. Every one's body adjusts to the decreased calories and diet differently. Keep your head up!

I forgot to mention the measurements. They aren't budging either. Sometimes they even go up. Ugh!

I too am not a particularly fast loser. My doctor was more upset about it than I was. lol. I have lost 77 lbs (had surgery 10/29/15), and I am less than 20 lbs from my goal.

In fact there are weeks where I will gain a lb, but then the very next week, I am 2 or 3 lbs down. As long as it's moving down I am happy and not really worried on the few weeks where I show a small gain, or no movement.

Don't worry...it WILL come off as long as you are sticking to your program.

Everyone is different but this is what happens with most people,

Month 1 - 20 pounds

Months 2-6 - 10 pounds a month

Months 7-12 - 5 pounds a month

Lose 100 pounds in one year.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends

Right. And if you don't factor in the first week, I didn't even lose an average of 10 lbs the first month. I'm over halfway through the second month and will maybe lose 5 if I'm lucky. I'm just saying I'm sloooooooooooow. WAY slower than average. Oh well, it's more than I would've lost without this brilliant tool, so there's that! I'm eating WAY fewer calories now and not suffering!

For what it's worth, I'm sure that everyone ever has felt that they are the slowest loser in history.  And I will tell you that, at 2 years post-op and having lost 144 pounds... you stop caring how fast or slow you lost weight in those first few months at some point.  :)

That sounds good to me! I'll be lucky to be at 25 lbs down at 10 weeks. You're doing well!
