Finally! Cleared for Surgery!!

Thank you and Yayyyy! Congratulations on your surgery date!! Fortunately, I was given my first surgery date at the first consult and it was up to me to be proactive and get myself into all of the pre-op requirement specialists appointments before that 3 months passed. I have Horizon BC/BS and they have no requirements, they just defer to whatever the surgeon's office requires, so i don't actually need "approval" from the insurance, so that was a blessing. Good job for sticking through it all and coming out on top! Good Luck!!!

I can't imagine how hard that setback must have been!!! but you are so close now!! YEAH for you!  

My VSG is this Friday. I had to pay cash due to exclusion policy on insurance but I think that has motivated me further to follow the rules. I only have one week pre-op, as I just found my dr last week, so I have been on liquids only(protein shakes and water) since last Friday. I am a little freaked out something will be wrong with my pre-op tests that will create a delay as you had. I suck at staying motivated when let down. You and I are pretty close in Surgery dates so I am hoping to follow your journey. Im in Dallas, TX 2 hrs behind you!

I don't know how to  use this site very well, it took me 2 days to figure out how to get to recent posts! LOL. Anyway, good luck to you! I am so happy you got the infection cleared up and are good to go! It's only uphill or downhill however you want to see it from here! Congrats!

Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, it was definitely a huge disappointment. And don't worry, i think you are truly not alone in your feeling that something will go wrong with the pre-op process or bloodwork and delay you even further. That is my last hurdle to jump through and I go for that tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed, it will all work out for both of us. Fortunately, I dont usually have any issues when it comes to bloodwork, so I should be in the clear, but hey, ya never know! I would love to keep in touch and follow your journey as well.
