Need a moment to vent
How in the world is it possible to NOT lose weight and I am eating less than 600 calories a day!!! I know it is the dreaded stall I've read about them and know that it is supposed to be temporary. Still a part of me is just wondering when will it end. It's been going on for the last 10 days and the scale has actually moved up! This is so frustrating Sorry, just had to let it out.

They FOR SURE suck... We'll all tell you it will pass, but its almost no good to hear :( Sorry youre in one, but they do pass! Are you logging your food? With myfitnesspal it will tell you how many calories/fats/carbs/proteins, what are your averages (if you are)?

Yes, I am tracking on MFP. Calories are between 550-600. Protein averages between 63-73. My highest carb day had 65 but most days around 50. And yes they really do suck!
OMG, maybe I should stop weighing daily! I haven't been measuring myself but I will start because I need to reassure myself that this is working.
Your body uses glycogen for energy. Each pound of glycogen needs four pounds of water to keep it soluble.
Your body starts by burning glycogen. It burns 2 pounds of glycerin and drops eight pounds of water which gives your first 10 pounds of loss.
But if you continue to diet, the body turns to burning fat. It converts some of that fat to glycogen and puts back the two pounds plus the eight pounds of water. So you are actually losing but it won't show on the scale until your body lets go of the glycogen and water stored with it.
The next big loss happens then. Having the scale go up a bit during the stall is quite normal.
It should end very soon now and your real weight loss from fat burning will start to show on the scale.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Very very helpful! Had no idea about this, but very interesting (and comforting!)
Thanks for posting it!

Last year, four months post-op, I went into a 4-week stall (according to the scale). However, during that time, a pair of capris that I had bought before the stall went from very snug to very loose. I was losing fat, even though the scale wasn't showing it. The scale eventually caught up with reality.
Put the scale in the closet for a week or two and just stick to the plan. At 600 calories/day, it is impossible not to lose fat.
