Did I do any damage?
I am close to 60 days post-op. I was eating some chicken tonight at dinner with my family and must have taken too large of a bite or perhaps ate too fast and it caused intense pain and I ended up throwing up. This has happened before on a few occasions and it's a good reminder of just how small bites I need to take. But this time the pain was much worse and a lot of bright red blood came up when I threw up. Has this happened to anyone? Did I cause some kind of damage or open a stitch or something?? Thanks.
Blood? What the heck are you asking us for? Go yo your doctor's. Now.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess around with that at all. Call your surgeon's office and speak to the service. They'll decide whether or not to page the doctor, though I'd be shocked if they didn't. Keep us updated as you can.

Call your doctor NOW.
If you've thrown up "several times," either something is wrong or you need to be more careful. Maybe both.

First as other have mentioned, call your doc regarding the most recent episode of vomiting and seeing blood. Let them determine how concerned you should be. Second, please find some tools to help you with the eating too fast or too large of a bite. My husband and I have both had VSG almost 2 years ago and still use tiny utensils unless we are out somewhere. They have really helped us to not put too much into our mouths at one time. Even with that tool my husband can eat too fast and has discomfort at times if he does not eat mindfully. He has used an app to help him slow down between bites. Put some tools in place to help you avoid future incidents. Best of luck as you move forward!

Thanks for all of your concern and feedback! I spoke with dr's office and it doesn't appear to be anything too concerning. Just a reminder to be more careful when eating. The chicken was dryer than anything I had eaten so far and it seems to have irritated something (still a lot of healing going on in there!) As long as no further symptoms arise I am fine. Just wanted to share for anyone else who may experience something similar.
