Leg is "asleep" and 4 days post op
Today (4th day post op) my right leg just feels like it asleep...aches. I have tried walking and walking, stretching, etc. I got home from the hospital Friday night, and I had iv fluids up until it was time to leave. I drank 43 ounces yesterday, and 34 ounces so far today.
I do not think it's a blood clot...no redness, warmth, or swelling.
Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks!
I wouldn't mess around with this. Call a medical professional. It is probably nothing, but if it is a clot, you don't want to be waiting. Note the symptoms of arterial and venous blood clots can be different.
From medicinenet.com:
Blood Clot Symptoms
Symptoms of a blood clot in the venous system can include swelling of the affected area, warmth, redness, and pain. Venous blood clots occur most commonly in the arms and legs. Symptoms of an arterial blood clot result from a lack of or decrease in oxygen delivery to the tissues supplied by the involved artery. Pain in the involved area is often the first symptom.
I woke up from surgery with numbness in left thigh. Doctor believes it was from the way I was placed on the surgical table. It bothered me for months. I finally got rid of it when I used capsaicin cream.
Call your surgeon, keep walking and keep drinking.
