Update: I'm in the hospital right now.
Can't sleep. Too many wires and doodads. Had surgery midday yesterday. It's 5 am now. I stopped pain meds last evening it's just super sore now. Gas sucks. I can eat the Popsicles. I can eat the ice but drinking is tough. It hurts the gas somehow.
Sjoukd be going home sometime today.
Great to hear. The first few days can suck. Walk as much as you can, and make drinking your mission in life.
Every day gets a little better.

Oh yeah, the gas sucks. My gas pain was on and off for about a week, but it was never as sharp as post op days 0 and 1. Walking helps. Hope you're able to go home and everything continues to go well!
I couldn't drink for almost a day after mine. I couldn't even do the popsicles. The nausea was too much. It helped when they gave me the anti-nausea stuff. Also, I requested pain meds to sleep (I don't understand why the hospitals try to stop it so quick).
Walking really helps eliminate the gas. My gas wasn't too bad but I made it a point of walking as much as I could. The good news is the worse of it is over. Every day gets better.
